Research & Reference Librarian Position
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Reference Librarian position provides first contact with patrons. Primary objectives include assisting library patrons and full-time staff as needed.
Other job requirements are as follows:
Assist library patrons in-person, over the phone, and via email
Utilize genealogical research tools, both physical and digital
Greet and direct museum visitors
Data entry and filing research and library materials, including the use of Microsoft Office products
Help with other museum events, activities, and exhibit installation
Reports to Archivist, and accepts direction from the Business Manager and the Outreach & Education Coordinator
Work is a combination of standing and sitting, with occasional outdoor work. Tasks include lifting boxes, climbing ladders, and reaching high or low shelving

Comfortable balancing administrative work with patron assistance
Shows digital proficiency and is adept to learning different devices and systems
Able to work independently
Knowledge of genealogy is a plus
HOURS
Position is part-time, approximately 16 hours per week (Thursday & Friday, 8am-4:30pm) plus one Saturday (9am-3pm) per month. Pay starts at $16/hr.
