The Online Auction runs through THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12th at 4:30pm. Winning bidders will be notified on Friday, December 13th, and may pick up their items as soon as Friday, December 13th after 10:00am. Thank you and happy bidding!.
STEP 1: Check out all our auction items below! REMEMBER--new items are added daily so check back often!
STEP 2: To sign up and/or bid, simply click HERE and fill out the form. Once you've signed up for the first time, you will receive an email with your anonymous bidder number. Any subsequent bids, just skip over the contact info form and use your bidder number instead, it's that easy!
STEP 3: Once you've placed a bid (and you can bid on multiple items at the same time with our online form) you will receive a confirmation email of your bid. If you are outbid, you will also receive an email letting you know to rebid, if you wish.

WCHS staff run this entire online auction manually while simultaneously keeping the library, galleries and Festival of Trees open too….so sometimes work gets in the way of this fun! Between Dec 9-12 we will try to update at least every 15 minutes until 9pm.

2019 AUCTION ITEMS
Item #1
AncestryDNA kit
TOP BIDDER: #920
CURRENT BID: $50.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
A couple months ago, one of our members called up, said she had a new AncestryDNA kit for our online auction, and promptly dropped it off in the library. What an awesome donation…..but the tag attached reminding me who the donor was is missing—if it’s you, please let me know ASAP so I can give you proper credit.
I completed this same test many years ago and highly recommend it as a fun way to see what you’re made of. Learn more about the test HERE.

Item #2
Oster Digital French Door Oven with Convection
TOP BIDDER: #911
CURRENT BID: $85.00
Minimum Bid: $20.00
There are no cooking facilities at WCHS, yet we are known for whipping up a delicious ‘family meal’ each week. This is the exact countertop oven we use and love, allowing us to warm up Hannah’s enchiladas or freezer rolls with ease. I recommend breakfast cookies for a meeting sometime soon!
Donated by Betty Dircks
Item #3
Handmade Birdbath
TOP BIDDER: #939
CURRENT BID: $20.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
Each year I look forward to the fun stuff WCHS member Bev Danielson brings for our online auction, and she never disappoints. More often than not she’s hauling in something for the birds, and my husband has purchased many of those items to share with his aviary friends.
Mark, this is one I think you’re going to want to bid on—it stands over two feet tall with the top plate being nearly 12” across, and is heavy enough to stand up with ease in the Minnesota wind.
Donated by Beverly Danielson
Item #4
Six dozen custom caramels
TOP BIDDER: #927
CURRENT BID: $150.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
I only make caramel one time a year but, when I do, I make literally thousands of pieces, all individually wrapped, and all full of rich cream, butter, and sugar. I personally love caramel that’s much firmer and can be cracked before eaten, my mother-in-law likes caramel much softer, and my husband somewhere in-between, so I’m happy to make it to the winning purchaser’s specifications.
Six dozen pieces, hand-wrapped in holiday caramel paper, to be made on Thursday, December 12th for fresh pick-up on Friday, December 13th! I can also ship if necessary. and will make to order.

Item #5
Farmhouse Kitchen tray
TOP BIDDER: #950
CURRENT BID: $50.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
I love this and almost didn’t put it on the auction because I wanted to keep it for myself. Cujo told me I was being selfish so here it is—a beautiful wood tray measuring 21” across, stencilled with chalk paint and sprayed with a protective coating. It has a 2” lip around the edge and handles for ease of carrying.
I know I can make another……but whoever gets this? You’re gonna love it.

Item #6
Handmade Lap Quilt & Book
TOP BIDDER: #940
CURRENT BID: $65.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
You have to touch this quilt to feel its’ amazing quality! This lap quilt is 48”x 60” and beautifully handmade with a very soft, dark grey backing. There are quilters in my family and I’ve learned a thing or two about what makes a good quilt—and this one had it all. Spend a snowy afternoon cuddled on the sofa with it, a cup of Earl Grey and “Lake Superior” by Grace Lee Nute. Sounds like a perfect Saturday to me.

Item #7
Toy Story 4, set of 4 small poseable figures
TOP BIDDER: #939
CURRENT BID: $15.00
Minimum Bid: $5.00
Set 1 of 3: Cheryl & Cindy came up with the idea of recreating Toy Story 4’s antique shop scene for this year’s Festival of Trees and, in the process, purchased some fun characters to hide in the display. To further add to the fun, they’ve created three different character sets for this year’s Online Auction but there’s a catch—these items won’t be available to pick up until January 6, 2020, after the close of the Festival of Trees. They’re so fun that we know someone will wait!

Item #8
‘Amy’ doll with rocking horse
TOP BIDDER: #925
CURRENT BID: $40.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
This vintage doll and rocking horse are in pristine condition, still in the box, and ready to make someone very happy this holiday season! Rather than remove it from the original packing, I’d taken a picture of the doll, certificate of authenticity and rocking horse, which is packed under the poster shown above. Seated, the doll & rocking horse stand 17” tall! Thanks to Karen Jacobson for donating this item to the Online Auction—great for a collector or anyone who values vintage items such as this beautiful set.

Item #9
Intarsia Art-Mouse & Mushroom
TOP BIDDER: #945
CURRENT BID: $25.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
Wikipedia says that intarsia is, “a woodworking technique that uses varied shapes, sizes, and species of wood fitted together to create a mosaic-like picture with an illusion of depth.” I say it’s remarkably beautiful and an art-form that I wasn’t aware of until Jerry Jacobson donated this piece to us. It measures 15” across and 20” high, and will be available to be seen at any time, it’s really that beautiful.

Item #10
Sally’s cleaning favourites
TOP BIDDER: #902
CURRENT BID: $26.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
I love to clean……..says no one, ever! I’d rather do practically anything else, as witnessed by the state of my office right now, but when I do clean I want to use the best products. It’s a bonus when those high quality products also smell great, which is exactly what you’ll find with Mrs Meyer’s newest scent, Apple Cider. Fall, schmall—Apple Cider is so delicious smelling that it’s for use all year around. I bet you’ll love it just as much as I do, and I even threw a candle and tea towel in for good measure!

Two haircuts at RD’s Barbershop
TOP BIDDER: #939
CURRENT BID: $25.00

I love honey, I love homemade, and I love hats. Lucky for y’all that I don’t allow myself to bid (I have all the inside information so it’s not fair!) otherwise this set would be MINE. Thanks to Pam & Jeff Weeks of Just Better with Honey for this ‘sweet’ donation.
Yes, pun intended.

Item #15
Pie of the Month…for a YEAR!
TOP BIDDER: #950
CURRENT BID: $130.00
Minimum Bid: $20.00
This is it. This is the donation that, last year, consumed much of my time contacting bidders who bid/were outbid/who bid again! In the end the winner generously shared her spoils with us, meaning WCHS staff received a pie every two months—homemade pumpkin, pineapple coconut, traditional apple—each more delicious than the one before. Mary’s the baker (we call her the ‘pie goddess’) and Jim’s the delivery guy. Together they make a pretty perfect—and generous—team.

Reversible Holiday Tote, jewel pouch and 1 dozen caramels
TOP BIDDER: #950
CURRENT BID: $30.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
If you were one of the many who attended WCHS’ new curator open house, you already know how awesome Hannah King is. What you probably don’t know is that she’s also super crafty—and sewing is one of her favourite pastimes! Lucky for us, Hannah’s also a generous co-worker and custom-made this 16”x16” holiday tote with braided handled just for us! This fully reversible tote is made of a gorgeous holiday fabric with inset, shimmering coloured stripes on one side, and green pinstripe on the other. She also made a sweet 6”x6” coordinating jewel bag, and included a vintage ‘Merry Christmas’ embroidered tea towel.
I couldn’t help but stuff the jewel bag with one dozen freshly made caramels. That way, when someone who loves me buys me this awesome auction item, I’ll have my treat AND eat it too!

Item #19
Baked Fresh Daily
TOP BIDDER: #902
CURRENT BID: $26.00
Minimum Bid: $5.00
I love to cook & make candy, but baking tends to elude me. I keep trying and and have found some items that really help me along, including this little set. I love these plastic measuring spoons because they start at a smidgen (1/32tsp) and go up to a full tablespoon! The beautiful spoon is hand carved by local artist J. Anderson and really gets in the corners of my bowls and pots. The sign is 22” long by 7” tall and is one of many I made this season. It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t include an apron and a set of savoury salt & pepper—even baking needs balanced flavours!!

“I Can Explain!” with port bribe ;)
TOP BIDDER: #902
CURRENT BID: $22.00
Minimum Bid: $10.00
I love this! One of my ‘kids’ creates the most fun Chalk Couture items, and she specially designed this postcard for our auction. This canvas postcard is 19” across and 13” tall and ready for posting up at home for all to see. If Santa won’t be convinced, maybe a little Buffalo Rock Winery ‘bribe’ of port (in my favourite bottle, of course!) and logo’d shot glass will seal the deal? Either way, it’s a winner of an item.
