GenLine: Digging For Your Swedish Roots
Saturday, July 19th 2008 from 1:00pm-4:00pm
Unable to find out where your Swedish ancestor came from? This workshop will present steps and tips on how to trace your
Swedish roots. An overview will be given of the available resources including: emigration records, passenger lists, census
records, Swedish-American church records, and Swedish church records. Information will be given as to how to find and use
these resources. There will be a demonstration of how to search one’s family online using Genline, an online digital
database of the original Swedish church books, as well as information about additional online resources.

The Wright County Historical Society Receives Lighting Grant from Minnesota
Historical Society
WCHS was recently awarded $6,350 for their lighting grant proposal. The galleries of the Wright County Historical
Society are all serviced by fluorescent lights, which is neither the safest nor most effective lighting source for our invaluable
artifacts. New track lighting and motion sensors will be installed as they are now the museum standard.
The
total cost of replacing lights in the Foyer Gallery and the Main Gallery is $12,700--the WCHS Board of Directors moved to
provides half the funds for this matching grant in an earlier meeting this year. Thanks to the generosity of our many
patrons who made donations to our Spring Lighting Fundraiser!
Electrical work is set to start early July, 2008.
We look forward to continuing to update our galleries and genealogical library for our many valued patrons.
