12th Annual
History of Tractors: INTERNATIONAL
HARVESTER
Tuesday,
March 16 2010
1:30-3:30pm
Speaker: Conrad Fiskness
What
an incredible success! This year's History of Tractors program attendance broke our previous attendance record by over
100 attendees. Every chair & spot to stand was taken with people lined up in the hallway to hear speaker Conrad
Fiskness' presentation. Staff counted over 150 cars in the parking lots; many others told us that they wanted over an
hour in our library just for the chance to talk with the crowd after the presentation, as there was nowhere else to stand
or sit but they weren't leaving!
Special
thanks to Conrad Fiskness for his incredible presentation. Conrad explained not only the rise of International Harvester
but the history behind the movement towards farm machinery in general. His extensive knowledge of IH, paired with his
personal love of the letter series and excellent photos, was exactly what the crowd came to hear. WCHS President Leander
Wetter gave a brief presentation on the last number series of IH Tractors and touched on the demise of the organization.
Thanks to everyone who attended. For a slideshow of the event, simply click
