WORKSHOP #1: Where We Come From: Our Stories as Art

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by calling Sally Stevens at 763-682-7323. We regret that no registrations can be taken through Facebook or online for this workshop.

Wright County Historical Society of Buffalo MN will host a workshop series and exhibition of artist books. The workshops will be taught by Jennifer A. Schultz, fiber and fabric artist of Minneapolis MN (visit Jennifer's website at http://jenniferaschultz.com/gallery-book-artspaper.html). The exhibit will include Schultz’ own artwork as well as artist books made by workshop participants.

Participants in the “Where We Come From” workshops will explore the meaning of place and landscape in their lives. They will learn cloth and paper book construction techniques, and explore a variety of fun media and artistic tools to tell their own stories about where they come from. This is a family-friendly activity open to learners of all ages, no experience necessary. A free-will offering will be accepted from those who wish to support this activity, in lieu of a registration fee.

Jennifer A. Schultz is a fiscal year 2017 recipient of an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
